The Firm

Small by design. Senior by default.

Axiom X was founded on a narrow conviction: that the quality of a business decision depends far more on who is in the room than on how large the firm behind them is.

We were built by an operator, for operators.

The firm grew out of a decade spent inside healthcare economics, revenue cycle, benefits, and technology — structuring partnerships, drafting the agreements behind them, and being accountable for whether they actually worked.

That history shaped how Axiom X practices. We write our own documents. We underwrite our own recommendations. We do not hand a mandate to a junior team, and we do not take more work than a small group of senior people can hold to standard.

The firm serves founders and operators through four practices — advisory and growth; employer and broker solutions; the responsible deployment of AI; and private wealth and tax strategy delivered through a vetted network of licensed advisors. Separately, we hold direct access to capital: growth funding from private individuals and family offices, and tier-one commercial real estate finance.

AxiomX, LLC is based in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and works nationally. Its founder also serves as fractional Chief Strategy Officer of HealthLock and holds partnership interests in affiliated ventures — positions disclosed to every client at the outset.

Adam Hewitt

Founder, AxiomX, LLC  ·  Fractional Chief Strategy Officer

Every number on a page belongs to somebody. Once you have read a family’s balance sheet — or an employee’s medical bill — you stop treating strategy as an abstraction and start treating it as stewardship.

Adam began his career in banking in 2006, in private wealth management at SunTrust, where the work was reading a household’s whole financial picture and telling people the truth about it. Seven years there taught him the habit the firm still runs on: look at the actual numbers before offering an opinion.

He spent the following decade at Pinnacle Financial Partners, moving through client service and commercial banking — lending, credit, refinance, and branch leadership — before being asked to build something that did not yet exist there. As Health Savings Advisor, then Employer Healthcare Solutions Product Manager, then SVP and Health & Benefits Program Manager, he took a banker’s discipline into employee benefits: plan design, employer cost, and the gap between what a benefits brochure promises and what an employee actually pays.

That gap became the next chapter. He joined HealthLock, a healthcare technology company, as Chief Revenue Officer and serves today as its fractional Chief Strategy Officer — working with employers, brokers, and financial partners to turn claims analytics, automated audit, and AI into something a person can actually use: lower cost for the company, fewer surprise bills for the family. It is the same seat he takes with Axiom X clients who need senior strategic leadership without carrying a full-time executive.

He founded Axiom X in 2024 for a reason that has less to do with consulting than with people. Twenty years of banking, benefits, and technology left him with something more useful than a methodology: a network of trusted partners — lenders, brokers, operators, technologists, counsel, and capital — each of whom he has watched work and would put his own name behind. The firm exists to build real relationships across those areas of business and then pair the right client with the right partner, so that almost any need a company brings to the table can be met by someone already vetted.

Partnership is the product. Read the numbers, name the constraint, bring the right people, and stay accountable for what happens next.

He and his family live outside Nashville, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Why the firm is built this way

Axiom X is not a business that happens to have a Christian owner. It was designed, deliberately, around Adam’s faith in Jesus Christ.

That is where the standards come from. Truth is not a positioning statement here; it is an obligation owed to the person across the table — which is the whole reason the firm is named for an axiom, a truth that requires no proof. The principles set out further down this page are not decoration; they are the operating rules of the firm, and every one of them is drawn from scripture.

In practice it decides ordinary, unglamorous questions: what gets disclosed, what gets declined, whose interest comes first when two are in tension, and whether a client hears the hard thing early or the comfortable thing late. Adam would rather lose the engagement than win it by leaving something out.

No client is asked to share that faith, and it is never a condition of the work. It is simply the reason the work is done the way it is done.

The name

Axiom: a truth that requires no proof. X: everything.

An axiom is a statement so evidently true that everything else can be built on top of it. In mathematics, X stands for everything — every variable, every unknown, every part of the problem still to be solved. The name is therefore the whole intention of the firm: one standard of truth applied across all of it. The numbers, the agreements, the people, the technology, and the promises made to clients.

It also sets the burden of proof on us. If a recommendation only works while a fact stays hidden, it is not advice; it is a sale. We would rather lose the engagement than hold that position.

Principles

Run on biblical principle, practiced in plain business terms.

These are not decorations on the wall. Each one decides something concrete about how we quote, disclose, document, and decline. You do not have to share the conviction to hold us to the conduct.

01

Integrity

Every fee, referral interest, and affiliated position is stated in writing before advice is given. No undisclosed spreads, no exceptions, no negotiation on this point.

“A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is his delight.”  ·  Proverbs 11:1

02

Prudence

We underwrite before we recommend. If the plan does not survive its own numbers in the room with us, it will not survive the market.

“Which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost?”  ·  Luke 14:28

03

Foundation

Structure first. Entity, agreement, and incentive are designed to hold when growth, disagreement, or a downturn arrives — because one of them always does.

“The rain fell and the floods came … but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.”  ·  Matthew 7:25

04

Candor

A clear no in a week is worth more than a vague yes for a year. We tell founders what we actually think, including when the answer costs us the mandate.

“Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.”  ·  Matthew 5:37

05

Faithfulness

The unglamorous work — the reconciliation, the missing exhibit, the follow-up nobody would have noticed — is where trust is actually earned.

“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much.”  ·  Luke 16:10

06

Counsel

Our value is candid judgment, not agreement. We stay small so the principal who sold the engagement is the one who performs it.

“Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed.”  ·  Proverbs 15:22
